The slider puzzle was made famous in 1878 by Sam Loyd who got the idea for his puzzle from an French game name Taquin or Pousse Pousse in 1870 invented by a deaf mute named Edouard Lucas. The explosion of the sliding block puzzles - 15 puzzle - was in the 1920s which led to the development of the Rubiks cube. The 1920s are a very important decade in the roots of Rock n Roll, Jazz, Blues and Country Music.
